A Career Abroad -A dream come true?
Accompanied by all the development happening around us, today, we are living in globalised world where the blend of cultures has paved way to a new and fresh way of looking at the world around. With this new trend, more and more individuals are settling abroad for various reasons like higher studies, earning a living etc. This has brought a new sense of belonging and unity amongst the people of different countries and different nations too.
Unemployment and poverty are some of the major pain areas that humanity as a whole is struggling with. These days searching for employment in one's home country has become very tough especially India, and one is drawn to the idea of moving overseas in search of an occupation.
Working abroad means moving away from the comforts of his own backyard to a completely unknown surrounding for earning a living. For some, working abroad is their own will, whereas for others it could be a compulsion. The decision to work abroad can be many-fold including higher wage, better quality of life and other aspects. The decision is also shaped by other major factors like climate, culture, cuisine, job security, living conditions and many more. Just like there are two sides of a coin, being employed abroad comes with its own benefits and implications.
There are many factors that provoke unemployment. It is influenced by saturations in the cruitment process with too many people having the same degree, overpopulation, impact of it in job market due to business cycle and dwindling job security. However on the flip side, there might be shortage of individuals with the same degree, job market might be more conducive to employment, and there might be more job security abroad. When an individual relocates abroad for work, he not only gets a new direction for his career, but also gets an opportunity to learn new cultures and traditions which has been alien to him this while.
Adjusting in an unknown country also involves facing hardships and learning to conquer them. For some, this can be a herculean task coupled with the agony of living away from family and friends. Nevertheless, this could be a life changing experience for a person. The new job might involve different working techniques than the one the individual has used in the past. Although the change in working technique can be overwhelming at first, nevertheless the overall experience is far more rewarding
While learning and experiencing new things can be fascinating, earning high wage is also a crucial factor to settle abroad as the living standards are very high there. Higher earnings can result in higher savings which is necessary to send money back home for dependents to live the present and to secure one's future from any adversity.
When an individual moves abroad he is all by his own without family and friends. He should be independent as he must be able to do his work unescorted. He is ought to effectuate his household chores. One of them is keeping the room clean. It mustn't be a farrago due to the exasperation and heavy footness of the person. If one's own room is dingy others tend to get abominated.
A person new to a foreign soil may be loathed by a few things like the aroma and the flavor of the food available there. He must be able to acclimatize himself, which could be onerous at the beginning; but as time passes by he should slowly but steadily be able to accommodate himself. During this phase he may miss his cave as life outside one's own cocoon is very strenuous and accepting it can be even more arduous.
It is a no brainer that settling abroad has its own exigencies; nevertheless, it could be a rewarding experience to learn new things that's happening around you in this far-far-away-land. Working in your own country vis-a-vis abroad comes with its own entourage; the choice one makes could certainly be difficult. The individual must he confident about his choices with no room for repentance at a later date.
